Job Function

Work cooperatively to provide technical support for online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses using Canvas and related tools within the Online Learning department.

Essential Duties Summary

• Provide friendly and accurate technical Canvas support for faculty, staff, and students.
• Troubleshoot software and other second level problems directly related to Canvas’s functionality.
• Create, copy, or modify Canvas courses on an ongoing semester schedule.
• Assist in investigating technical issues, running technical backend processes, running reports, and sending communication based on the Online Learning department’s needs.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills with respect to hardware and software used in at the College and in the Center for Teaching & Learning.
• Develop and update documentation, such as procedure manuals and Online Learning help resources.
• Train others as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator of Online Learning.
• Participate in technical meetings
• May undertake projects for the Center for Teaching & Learning as assigned.
• Work in a team environment to meet or exceed performance goals
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Manager of Online Learning. Also takes direction from the Coordinator of Online Learning.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.

Preliminary Qualifications

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated communication, customer service, data entry skills and computer and Windows maintenance abilities. Excellent writing and verbal skills are required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must provide extensive customer service with courtesy and concerned attention to individual needs. Must create and maintain an environment that creates a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and student success. Provide direct assistance to accommodate client needs. Must successfully interact and serve diverse populations. Follow precise procedures as required. Maintain high degree of accuracy for all functions. Demonstrate proficiency of the Windows operating system.

Work Hours Not to exceed 30 hours per week. Working days and hours may vary to include evening and weekend hours, specific work schedule will be arranged to meet departmental needs. Travel between campuses may be required.
Position Level 3
Salary $11.2156 - $14.7482 per hour (17-18 salary range)
