Job Function

Provide clerical support to Career Services staff.

Essential Duties Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-General clerical duties including typing, filing, answering phones, photocopying and faxing.
-Assist with special events
-Update job boards, binders and MacombCareerLink
-Provide information and customer service to clients
-Greet and properly direct clients to appropriate areas and departments
-Assist with CS bulk mailings
-May distribute mail and prepare mailings
-Pick up and deliver items from various departments, as necessary
-May research departmental issues
-Correct and build departmental records
-Assist in tracking and ordering office supplies and resources
-Assist CS Team in implementing programs
-Provide coverage on a rotational basis for S Lobby Welcome Desk
-Cross train in all Career Services areas to insure basic assistance to all clients as needed
-Participate in professional development opportunities as assigned to enhance job skills
-Perform other duties as assigned

Preliminary Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Prior office experience helpful, but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must provide extensive customer service with courtesy and concerned attention to individual needs. Must create and maintain an environment that creates a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and student success. Will provide direct assistance to accommodate client needs, so must be able to deal with diverse populations. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to work with deadlines. Demonstrated computer experience, including spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word Processing. Excellent telephone skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organized, creative and self started.

Work Hours To be determined. Work hours will be based on college work-study funding. Scheduled work hours may not conflict with class hours. Position terminates at end of semester or when award is exhausted. Hours may not exceed 20 per week.
Position Level 3
Salary $11.2156-$14.7482 per hour (2017-18 salary range)
