Job Function

Identify and execute repair needs for FANUC robots, computers and classroom teaching equipment. Assist Robotics Technology faculty with all aspects of program operation as needed.

Essential Duties Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintain Robotics Laboratories, identify repair needs, recommend and implement solutions
-Specify and order repair parts needed, execute repairs and investigate and analyze cause of failure
-Maintain all department records electronically, including inventory of lab supplies, and initiate replacement supply orders
-Run routine preventative maintenance
-Maintain lab security and proper safety standards
-Assist with classroom projects and labs, including the knowledge and use of classroom software such as ROBOGUIDE and Teach Pendant programs.
-Assist faculty with preparation of teaching materials, including the creation of video demonstrations and PowerPoint presentations
-Assist faculty with lab preparation
-Move equipment into labs for classes and into storage area after classes
-Monitor students and equipment during open labs
-Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Associate Dean, Engineering Technology. Works with and takes direction from the faculty of Robotics Technology, Electronics Technology and Mechatronics Technology.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.

Preliminary Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Some education such as relevant course work and/or formal training. Must have basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel). Must be competent in the use of hand tools, power tools and be able to follow general shop safety procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be a self-starter and capable of performing problem solving processes as related to repair processes. Must be proficient in the operation of electro-mechanical and computer equipment and have an ability to interpret and act on investigative processes required to produce effective repairs. Must be skilled in all Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, students, office staff and other employees, as well as handle telephone communications with vendors regarding equipment specifications etc. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills, including email communications. Must maintain and present a professional appearance at all times. Must adhere to CRISP standards.

Work Hours To be determined. Work hours will be based on college work-study funding. Scheduled work hours may not conflict with class hours. Position terminates at end of semester or when award is exhausted. Hours may not exceed 30 per week.

Salary $11.2156 -$14.7482 per hour (2017-18 salary range)
