Job Function

Performs operational tasks related to utilization of the facility; assists in the coordination and execution of all support activities for the facility and related departmental and college functions; responsible for on-site supervision of events taking place in the facility; related work as required.

Essential Duties Summary

-Assists Student Activities Manager and Student Activities Assistant in the full range of activities involved in planning and executing conferences and events, and in managing a visitor facility
-Opens and secures facility
-Set up rooms, furniture and audio visual equipment to meet client specifications
-Provide customer service to clients, staff and students. Assist with seminar room needs, and provide technical support in the use of audio visual equipment.
-Provide recommendations on building and equipment repair, and special projects
-Enforces health, safety and fire and other regulations
-Maintains all departmental equipment. Cleans and organizes storage room.
-Patrol building and reports any unusual incidents or problems to the appropriate personnel
-Provide proper security for the facility’s equipment.
-Coordinate arrangements with clients and staff to ensure that their activity needs are met in a timely manner.
-Assist the Manager and Assistant of the facility in handling diverse functions.
-Perform related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General direction and supervision from the Manager of Student Activities, Community Services and Commencement.


Preliminary Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Must have demonstrated ability to perform duties of the position. Related experience or training in facility/event operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess effective interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate well verbally and in writing. Must have demonstrated organizational abilities and be able to work equally well independently or as a team. Personal computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Must be flexible and able to work changing shifts, including days, evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands
Work Hours To be determined. Work hours will be based on college work-study funding. Scheduled work hours may not conflict with class hours. Position terminates at end of semester or when award is exhausted. Hours may not exceed 30 per week.

Salary $11.2156-$14.7482 per hour (2017-18 salary range)
